Something have happened and the mailbox store is gone from the ESM.
But the EDB and STM files are still there, how can get the mailbox store up and running again?

Actually I removed some inheritances permissions on the mailbox store using adsiedit. I will need to get all these inheratinces back, but how do I do this?

Thanks!

hi mate,

You mean to say that Mailbox store is not seen in the ESM console or mailboxes under under the mailbox store?

First suggestion:
Check the path of the database displayed in the ESM and see the folder whehter those mailboxes existing.
Run clean up agent - if you see mailbox store is available.
Run exbpa report and look for any specific alert for your issue.

Got it working by resetting the ACL. Not the best, but hey we are up and running. In adsi edit it is possible to see the full name of container and mailbox store locations.

So a tip is the export the stores list in adsi.edit and then just copy paste the line containing the troubled mailbox store, and then
dsacls <linefromexport> /G everyone:GA

See example below!

MAILBOXSTORE = yourmailboxstore
SERVERNAME = NAMEOFMAILSERVER
DOMAIN = Domain that the server is memeber of

Then:
DSACLS "CN=MAILBOXSTORE,CN=First Storage Group,CN=InformationStore,CN=SERVERNAME ,CN=Servers,CN=SERVERNAME ,CN=Administrative Groups,CN=DOMAIN ,CN=Microsoft Exchange,CN=Services,CN=Configuration,DC=DOMAIN ,DC=lan" /G everyone:GA
