Hi,
We are unable to send emails via our Exchange server using Pop3. The NDR is
- The following recipients could not be reached: 'user@domain.com' 554 5.7.1
: Relay access denied
Exchange: Pop3 & SMTP Virtual servers are configured
Outlook account settings are:
Outgoing server is set as 'my outgoing server (SMTP) requires auth' and 'log
on to incoming mail server before sending mail'
When i click Test Account Settings it's successful (eg. Send test email msg
- completed)
I have tried every other Outgoing server option unsuccessfully
I am able to telnet to the outgoing server address on port 25
Does anybody have any suggestions? Thanks

When you telnet to the outgoing server on port 25, are you able to send an email out successfully? What are the authentication settings on the receive connector for this server?

telnet servername 25
ehlo
mail from: test@domain.com
rcpt to: validuser@yourdomain.com
data
test.

1. What is the port number that is configured on the server to connector port 25 or 587
2. What are the authentication that are enabled.

create a new custom receive connector
set the network address to your internal subnets
check basic authentication
check exchange users

I can send you screenshots of a properly configure SMTP receive connector with basic authentication enabled
