Dear all

I used exchange server 2003 with AD 2008. After installation, everything work fine. But recently , i installed service pack 2 for the exchange server. After that installation, some of the user become disconnect to the exchange server. I do fresh install at new server and move user mailbox to the new server and the error still continue. I found that when user become disconnect that user can't ping to the exchange server but can ping to others servers and clients.

please advice to me how to solve that problem.

thanks in advance

thanks neko for ur advice.

Yeap!  i check all the connection. i do delete arp record, change the speed of network card, change the switch port ( i totally change the whole switch ) , flush dns everything but can not still ping. That so strange at the time the client which can not ping to exchange server can ping to the others server. That problem occours randomly between the clients. But at the same time , the pc which can ping to the exchange server can work normally.all my clients are just only in the LAN.

When you suggest that the clients cannot ping the exchange server...basis this idea.

1) Can we run Exchange Best Practice Analyzer - health check report.
2) How about checking through the event logs - do you see some problems in the events.
3) Is TCP/IP Offloading done on Exchange Server ?
4) Is this a problem with few clients OR with every machine not being able to communicate with Exchange Server ?
5) Can Exchange Server ping other DC/GC/DNS/ Work stations ?
6) Does a reboot of Exchange Server solve the issue OR basically disable and re-enable NIC Cards ?

1) Get those events pasted - if those are relevant
2) Get EXBPA results clean
3) Upgrade your work station and Exchange box NIC Cards upgraded ASAP
4) Try placing both clients on same LAN - switch and check.
5) Disable windows firewall on clients and Exchange box.
6) Run a tracert and check which is the last hop between clients and Exchange box.

My opinion this is network issue and not Exchange. if Exchange and Clients cannot talk over basic network, Outlook won't work at all.

Any antivirus / spam / third party thats installed on these boxes - dump them for time being

I used kaspersky Business Security ( 6.0.4.1212 ) but I already uninstalled.

But I saw 32 sessions ( " SMTP(servername-{BCDD1903-5960-45D5-A158-DF015B847D70}) NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM " )

I don't know why so many sessions ?? may be concern or not

thanks in advance

Dear all

Last information i found from my problem that when client disconnected to the exchange, user can not ping to exchange server and other mail server which exist on the same LAN. I have two mail servers ( exchange and vpop3 ). users who disconnected can ping , browse and can do everything except these two servers. Is there any tools to check for connection to mail server. When i run EXBPA for connection and the show everything is good.

Thanks in advanced

I think its high time you run a network monitor trace and that needs to be checked so see what is going wrong.

Or call the experts in - MS PSS Team.
