Cannot uninstall the Hub Transport Role - 7.Jul.2010 10:36:33 AM

I am attempting to install a new Exchange 2010 server running on Server 2008 R2 into an existing environment with Exchange 2003.  My domain controllers are separate from the exchange servers and my goal is to migrate all the users from 2003 to 2010.  Initially when I installed 2010 I only installed the Client Access Role because I was following the directions of the Microsoft's Exchange Deployment Assistant but realized during install that I needed a more specific guide and switched over to the Rapid Transition guide on wordpress.com.

At this point the two guides differed because the Microsoft guide installed the roles separately but the rapid transition guide installed them all at once so I went ahead and installed the remaining Hub Transport and Mailbox Roles and that is when my problems began!  The setup did not complete properly because the install said it could not start the hub transport role.  After searching all over I found many documents (mostly Exchange 2007) that said this can be caused if you were not installing in the default location and that it can have to do with the user/service that the Hub Transport is starting with.  I attempted to follow some of the solutions I found but ultimately just wanted to install everything and try again from scratch in the default location if I had to.  Now the uninstall will not complete and the error message is:

Hub Transport Role
Failed

Error:
The following error was generated when "$error.Clear(); get-PowerShellVirtualDirectory -server $RoleFqdnOrName -DomainController $RoleDomainController | remove-PowerShellVirtualDirectory -DomainController $RoleDomainController;" was run: "Exchange server "EVANSSRV02.evansrestoration.com" was not found. Please make sure you have typed it correctly.".

Exchange server "EVANSSRV02.evansrestoration.com" was not found. Please make sure you have typed it correctly.

Elapsed Time: 00:00:00

I currently have not found anything remotely describing this error and would like to just get 2010 completely uninstalled so I can try setup again from a clean slate.  Any assistance is appreciated!  Thanks.

Seems the setup is erroring out when it's trying to remove the powershell virtual directory.

If you open the IIS manager under default website, what virtual directories do you see?
