hello,i'm using Outlook 2000 the error 0x80040116. I can not receive and send email.

Hi !

When you open Outlook or when you open a personal folders (.pst) file, you may receive the following error message :: error 0x80040116. This issue may occur if the index of the .pst file is damaged.

To resolve this issue, you can use a third party Outlook repair tool. I have used Kernel for Outlook repair tool that works really amazing and very powerful. You can find it from www.msoutlookrepair.com

I had faced such a error before 6 months therefore I lost my very important data. Thanks for sharing solution for these MS outlook error!

Microsoft has clearly stated that this error is due to some corruption in Outlook.pst file and may not be repaired by built-in Inbox repair tool (scanpst.exe). For detail information, you may visit this kb article: support.microsoft.com/kb/32991.

Yes, it is one of the most common PST file corruption problems. I was also experiencing this error 3 days ago and then found solution here: An unknown error occurred - 0x80040116

If above solution does not work for you, then you should use a PST repair application to analyze and fix the issues.

I think there is some problem with your PST file. You can use Outlook recovery tools to repair it. Below is a list of them:

If you are getting error 0x80040116 then be sure that .pst file have become corrupt and due to this reason the available data also gets deleted. So in this situation this becomes important to repair pst file, in a proper manner without any loss of data.
