Hi All, Well DAG's work very superbly!
We are in early days yet and have setup a Wide Area DAG using 2 nodes one each in a DataCenter. We lost the main Exchange server.(Complete RAID 5 failure using onboard Intel controller) Totally trashed the system partition. Still the DAG worked superbly and we are on the secondary node with the DB copy worling fine. Now its time to rebuild the broken server. Can anyone point me towards an article on putting the broken server back in place and moving the DB back? Do I just rebuild the server using the same IP and host name, do I break the cluster? Do I creat a new installtion add it to the DAG and move the DB across then delete the old DAG node from the console?
We have upgraded the RAID firmware on the broken server so there is no changes to hardware. I have restored the OS and ready to re-install Exchange. What's the simplist method of bring the server back online and back into the DAG? I'm off back to the Server room to test the Intel RAID controller till my confidence is restored!!!
Cheers and thanks in advance.
