Hi there...

i would like to make possible only one address list for all user within one domain.

we have now this situation: 15 users, everybody has its own contact list and they are updating it randomly. Now, i would like to have only one address list (or one global address list) so everybody in the company could access this "common" address list with customers data.

how can i set it up?

tx for any help

This is typically done in a Public Folder if you want the users to keep the list updated.

You create a Public Folder that holds Contact objects.  You then permission it the way you want (restricting write-access if needed).  Then you allow the users to populate it.  They can copy their contacts.  You should plan that out in case people have duplicates because the Public Folder won't care and you may end up with multiple objects for the same contact and will then have to perform "clean up" to remove the unnecessary items.

I highly recommend you go out and purchase a good book on Exchange. I'll start you on the path, but I cannot commit to walking you through step-by-step. The alternative is to bring in a consultant or whomever set up your Exchange environment.

Pointing at Public Folders in Outlook, right click and select New Folder. As well as naming the folder, you have to choose what the folder will store - in your case you want it to store Contact Items.

After the folder is created, you need to permission it. If you don't have the ability to change the permissions, you should consider the consultant as mentioned above. Exchange is typically considered a business-critical application. It would be similar to me attempting to work on my car's engine or transmission - really not a good idea.

So, i should do this on one prticular PC, on OUTLOOK and not on Exchange server itself?

so, what i should do is:

.on one PC under public folder and make a folder "contact"
.i should point out that it will be a contact items.
.i should give a permissions to certain users
.these steps are not made on server itself

is this correct?

Depending upon your permissions, you may be able to do all of that from Outlook. If you cannot complete any of the steps, it's most likely because you don't have the level of permissions needed, at which point permissions need to be granted by someone with permissions into the Exchange Organization.
