Hi We have an Exchange 2007 server, and Windows Mobile 6.5 devices (HTC Snap, Touch 2, Touch Pro 2), running Exchange ActiveSync. They synch both over the air, and across our network via USB + ActiveSync 4.5 Recently, only whilst connected over USB with an ActiveSync 4.5 partnership, numerous PDAs have started getting these alerts: "Company policy prohibits use of Remote Desktop. Wpctsc.exe is blocked" "Company Policy prohibits use of Internet Sharing. IntShrUI.exe is blocked" Now, these 2 'apps' are blocked via the Exchange ActiveSync policy we push down to the PDAs...but the message is causing users much confusion, and obviously I'd like to know what is trying to launch these apps in the first place!! Troubleshooting so far: Problem only happens over USB with partnership created with ActiveSync 4.5 Poblem still occurs when “allow wireless connections’ ticked in in d/top A/sync Problem still occurs when “allow wireless connections” is unticked!! Our Exchange a/sync policy has not been changed recently. Problem still occurs when d/top a/sync set to “This computer is connected to: The Internet” Problem doesn’t seem to occur whilst connected over a/sync under guest partnership Problem still happens when definite selection made of “activesync..don't ask again!’ on PDA (rather than internet sharing) Problem still occurs when ‘enable faster data synch’ unticked on device Anyone experienced this issue? Any Ideas?! Many thanks in advance Mantog

Update! The problem was caused by Centennial Discovery software trying to audit our PDAs. Found a directory created on C called C:\Discovery\PDA Audit which contained numerous logs, including these: 2010-10-20 11:09:26 \Audit\Software <WINCE_FILE_INFO> cannot open '\Windows\IntShrUI.exe' (System error code 2) 2010-10-20 11:24:24 \Audit\Software <WINCE_FILE_INFO> cannot open '\Windows\wpctsc.exe' (System error code 2) 201 Not sure why it needs to launch these apps on PDAs during it's audit process?!

Its probably trying to discover every single piece of installed software on the phone. But it should not have to launch it...so i dont know why it has to launch the executable to discover it. Can you exclude these files within Centennial?
