bfrank55 -> Problem After E2K7 SP3 (13.Sep.2010 4:39:40 PM)

We just installed SP3 and Rollup 1 for SP3 in our Exchange 2007 test environment. Now when I open Exchange Management Console and go to the clustered mailbox server or the CAS server under Server Configuration, I get the following error message:

Retrieving the COM class factory for remote component with CLSID
{2B72133B-3F5B-4602-8952-803546CE3344} from machine <server FQDN>
failed due to the following error: 800706ba.

I click OK and then just get the hourglass forever.

Has anyone run into this situation before?

Thanks In Advance,
Bruce Frank

OK, I've detected that only occurs when accessing something related to IIS (owa,...)

I'm experiencing this same issue in our lab environment testing the upgrade for RU1 for SP3.  Please let me know if you discover a solution!

Firewall rules on the servers in my lab were Windows 2008 default.  I imported the fw policies from my prod servers into my lab servers and the issue went away.

I have the same problem. When browsing through the EMC to Server Configuration, and then selecting one of the remote servers, this error pops up:

Retrieving the COM class factory for remote component with CLSID {2B72133B-3F5B-4602-8952-803546CE3344} from machine xxxx failed due to the following error: 800706a

What are the firewall rules that you used to fix this? If I turn off the firewall it works fine.

Hi Goosed

I created a new inbound Firewall policy that allowed RPC Dynamic Ports for the Domain Profile only on both of my CCR exchange servers. I no longer get the 800706ba error when the firewall is on and can manage CCR in EMC
