I have installed Exchange 2010 + SP1 I can send and receive emails with Outlook but when I go to OWA and I try to delete a message I got an error saying:
An unexpected error occurred and your request couldn't be handled.
That's all I have.I am able to delete messages from outlook but not from OWA.
After trying a LOT of steps including rebuilding all virtual directories, reobtaining/reinstalling SSL certificates, and a myriad of setting changes to exchange and IIS, I ran into a post on technet
Bottom line was, deleting/renaming the web.config file from "...\inetpub\wwwroot\web.config" fixed the issue. I renamed this file to web.configBAD and ran iisreset. OWA lets me delete, move, etc without any issues now.
I have the exact same problem. So frustrating. Installed Exchange 2010 SP1 just a few weeks ago. Went to OWA (regular and "light version") and cannot delete or move messages. Huge step backward for me. I am wishing for OWA 2003 now. It worked so thoroughly and whatever I complained about I apologize. OWA 2010 is not really a step up at all and the users are getting ready to mutiny.
Does anyone have any idea when Microsoft will address the shortcomings of OWA 2010 ?
You have to have a web.config file for any IIS site, but I believe they're saying you SHOULDN'T have a web.config in the inetpub\wwwroot folder..each virtual directory would have its own web.config
