We have a new implementation of EX 2010 SP1. We currently have four servers and will be adding a second. We have two CAHT load balanced behind a load balancer, and one DR server that is CAHTMB, we have one server that is just MB at our main location and will be adding a second MB there in a few days. All our mail was moved from EX03 and everything is functioning fine. We cannot add a database copy to our DR server. In testing we created a new database and then moved a few test users with a few hundred MB of data. Then we could create the DB copy fine. We could remove it and recreate without a problem. Next we did a backup (either with Windows backup or EMC networker). After backing up the DB we could no longer make a database copy. I don't know if this is a bug with EX2010 SP1, but you may want to verify this in your environment with a test database. If anyone has any ideas, I have an open case with MS.

I have confirmed with another organization that they are seeing the same issue on Exchange 2010 SP1. After a long call with MS, we have found a temporary work around. You can dismount the database, make a backup copy of all of the log files, and delete them. Then when you mount the database, you can make a dag copy once again. We are awaiting a call back from MS for more details. Hope this helps anyone having the same problem.
