Hi Friend,

While i installing Exchange 2010, folowing errors seen in Readiness Checks;

Hub Transport Role Prerequisites
Failed
Error:
The DNS domain name is invalid. It contains characters other than 'A'-'Z', 'a'-'z', '0'-'9', '.' and '-'.

Client Access Role Prerequisites

As i am new to echange, Can any one help me on this
By the way my Domain Controller name is ASH-PDC.ASH_DOM.com

what is your dns domain name? it apparently needs some fixing.

Take a look at your domain name. Exchange 2010 doesn't like the underscore in "ASH_DOM". From the link that you pasted in your error message:

"If the invalid characters are in the machine name for the local computer, reset the DNS domain name for the domain on the local computer by using only valid characters in the range of 'A-Z', 'a-z','0-9', '.' and '-', restart the computer, and rerun Exchange 2007 setup."

If you want to go ahead with the Exchange installation, you're going to need to reconsider renaming your domain. The following article may be of use:

Apart from Renaming the domain, is there any other way to proceed.

There may be other ways to workaround this, but I'm afraid the only ones I know will work are those outlined in the article above.

Unfortunately as everyone has mentioned, the domain name contains an invalid character (http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=909264)! You can either rename the domain or setup a brand new domain tree (in the same forest) and setup exchange there. Also from your comments, it seems you are trying to install Exchange on a domain controller. It is highly not recommended to do this because of the so many issues you will encounter through the life of your Exchange server (Microsoft supports but does NOT recommended it as a best practice)!!

Please install Exchange on a member server instead, regardless of how you resolve this issue!
