Hey all,
Here's my issue. I have an single Exchange 2007 mailbox server with a single 2007 CAS box. The environment was setup with as domainA.com. Later we had an identity change here and I put domainB.com as an accepted domain and a few months after that changed the reply to address on all mailboxes to match the new domainB.com while leaving domainA.com as an accepted domain. OWA is still set as domainA.com/owa.

Issue
What changes now if anything when I upgrade to Exchange 2010 if I follow the steps for 2007-2010 co-existance. I wanting to set the Exchange 2010 side up with domainB.com being the primary and domainA.com as an accepted domain. But, I'm not sure if the MS co-existance steps apply anymore concerning the legacy domain setup or how I need to modify it to match what I want to do.

Thanks
RS

Is the Exchange 2010 on a different box now? if yes, the co-existence is ok.

Exchange 2010 has not been installed at all as of yet... I wanted to make sure that I get the DNS setup correctly.
Since I was changing from domainA.com as the primary with domainB.com as an accepted domain to domainB.com as primary with domainA.com as an accepted domain I wasn't sure exactly how I should setup DNS for co-existence.

You will have to change domainB to the authorative domain in "accept domains" and then change the domainA to internal relay domain.

1. Go into Hub Transport under Server config on the domainA and create a connector to accept emails from domainB.
2. Go to Org Config -> Send connectors -> create a connector to send emails to domainB
3. go to domainB exchange server, create a receive connector, accepting from domainA
4. domainB, go to the send connector and send emails to domainB.
5. change your config on the router etc to pass emails to domainB exchange server.

Hi,

Let's first go a step back, will Exchange 2010 will be installed in the same Exchange organization as Exchange 2007?
