mikehunt31 -> OWA user logon between domains (29.Oct.2010 8:28:40 AM)

Hi

We have 2 AD domains in a single AD forest. (2 company entities)

I have a user in domain2 that needed to have his mailbox moved to an exchange 2000 server in domain1.

When he tries to access mail using OWA he types the url for the exchange server in domain1 and tries to log in using his domain2 credentials (domain2\username) but this fails.

Am i missing a trick somewhere.

Please help

Thanks

Does he have an email address in the same SMTP domain as everyone else in domain1? OWA 2000 and 2003 virtual directories can only handle one SMTP domain (nothing to do with AD domain) at a time, so it sometimes happens that a user with an email address in a different domain to everyone else can't use OWA. The answer is to give the user an extra email address (it doesn't even have to be their primary address) in the same SMTP domain as everyone else.
