Hi all. I hope this is the correct place to post this question, if not please let me know.

I'm working for a company who has Small Buisness Server 2003 and are using the builtin pop connector to pull in emails. Recently an Exchange 2003 server has been added to another Win2k3 R2 machine and all the mailboxes have been migrated to that Exchange server. I've had to disable the pop connector because I am getting Undeliverable mail messages from the ISP saying that there is a mail forwarding loop.

I think what is happening is that the Pop connector is pulling in the emails and trying to deliver them locally but since the mailboxes are on the other server it is using the smart host (which is the ISP). Does this sound correct?

If I disable the smart host for the SBS Server that has no mailboxes in it, will the messages then be sent to the correct server by the pop connector or will the sender receive an NDA because the user does not exist or will the POP connector be able to deliver it properly? Is there some sort of connection between the two servers that I need to set somewhere after I remove the smart host on the SBS Server (but not on the other new machine)?

Thanks for any information provided.
