Rhodan -> Telnet issue on port 25 (25.Nov.2010 2:24:04 AM)

We have two 2007 HT/CAS servers in a NLB cluster on Server 2008.

When I telnet to the load balanced IP address, I can do the HELO fine, but when I start typing out the commands for the from address or sometimes the recipient address, I get disconnected with a "connect lost to host" message.

Any idea's what would be causing this?

Quite a few views but no replies? Anybody?

[:D]Make sure you type faster [:D]

What happens when you telnet to the local IP address of the server? What settings were chosen when configuring the NLB? Are you balancing all or selected ports?

Thanks for the reply.

I am load balancing 80, 443 and 25. If I telnet to the local IP of one of the ones, I get the same behaviour. If I add my PC's IP address to the anonymous relay restrictions, then I can Telnet in and send an email OK. Still doesn't work with the load balanced IP however?

The behaviour you are experiencing is correct! If you do not specify the IP address of your machine, then everytime you try to telnet, it will disconnect you. Make sure you are adding your IP address to all the servers in the NLB cluster.

Make sure all the servers in the NLB cluster have identical configuration for Exchange!
