Detail Meeting Information not showing for Room Mailbox

How can we see the Free/Busy Detail information for a Room Resource Mailbox? The scenario is that we can see a room is busy during a time but we'd like to know who is using the room on both sides of when we want it. I know it can be emailed to us but management wants to know why they cannot see the detail like we do with shared calendars. I see no way to get the the Calendar Permissions for it like we do within the Outlook 2007 Client by right-clicking and going to Permissions. OWA does not offer that option.

I haven't tried it but I think you should be able to change the permissions on the calendar.
  • Give yourself full mailbox Access to the room\resource mailbox
  • From Outlook, add the room mailbox to your profile
  • Go to Calendar and open the properties of the room calendar
  • On the Permissions tab, click on Default from the list of names and change its read permission to Full Details
  • Save and close the permissions and test it out.

Room Mailboxes do not have a way to get to their "permissions" in Exchange 2007. The only way I've found to change anything with a Room Mailbox is to give myself FullAccess and then get into it through OWA, but here there is no "permissions" option. You can't right-click and get to a Permissions tab like in the Outlook Client and there is no user account associated with the Room Mailbox so you can't login to it through Outlook.

Ok I think you been mis-informed! ALL mailboxes in Exchange require a user account! A Mailbox in exchange is simply an extension or an attribute associated to a user object in Active Directory. The statement "there is no user account associated with the Room mailbox" is absolutely not correct! A room (as well as other resource and shared mailboxes) mailbox has a disabled user account associated to it.

Have you tried the method I specified in my original post (adding an additional mailbox to your Outlook profile)??? Try it and let us know the results...

That did it! Thanks. I misread it, it was that the user account is disabled.
