I am about to be involved in the planning and deployment of a 2010 upgrade from 2003 and I am looking for some feedback on our ideas so far.
We have two datacentres in different locations, but both are very well connected and so both are in the same AD site.  One is a primary active data centre and one is a backup/failover data centre.
The setup detailed in the article Designing a Site Resilient Exchange 2010 Solution (Part 1) on msexhcnage.org is the design that best fits our scenario, but as both locations span a single AD site I plan to make a few changes and need to know if it will still work.
We would have a DAG group as in the article across both locations, but only the primary datacenter would have active databases, with the backup datacenter holding passive copies for redundancy.
We would plan to have a CAS server at each location and both would be members of a single CAS Array using WNLB rather than have a single array at each location and all DAG node databases would point to this Array.
If this was configured as such could we therefore then allow for failover of single databases to the mailbox server in the failover datacenter without experiencing the interruption to OWA and ActiveSync detailed in the article?
Thanks
