Dear All, I am running Exchange server 2007 SP3 on windows server 2003 Sp2. now i want to move to exchange 2010. when i try to install exchange 2010 sp1 on a separate machine windows server 2008 r2. it give me error message on exchange 2010 setup

coexistence between exchange server 2010 and exchange server versions older than exchange server 2007 sp2 in the same active directory site is not supported

please advice if there is any possible solution.

Sounds like you have may have a ghost Exchange server in the organization. Did you ever have another exchange server in this domain or any other domain in the forest (if running multiple domains)?

Also use ADSIEdit and drill through the configuration container\Services\Microsoft Exchange\"Your Organization name"\administrative groups. Go through all the groups and you'll see a server's container. Any ghost servers in there?
