cmmgray,

A distribution group is nothing but a collection of mailboxes that have a common email address. It does not have a mailbox rather it is its members that have mailboxes. Follow the instructions provided by ismail.mohammed to re-enable the distribution group and make sure the membership to the group is accurate.

Hi Ismail,

I went to create a new distribution list however when I went to existing and browsed, the distribution name was not there.

e.g

enterprise admins
Enterprise read only etc...

If I try and point it to the OU which the group is in , it says there is nothing to view

Can you help?

Hi,

If I browse to the OU where is group is, it says it cannot find anything?

If I create the same DG from scratch, it says there is already DG with the same name, so the disabled DG is somewhere within exchange.

Thanks for help everyone.

Go into active directory users and computers. Locate this group and open its properties. Can you verify what type and scope of group it is??
