Can I install Exchange 2010 in a Windows 2003 Domain?
I dont see anything from Microsoft other than "2008 specific" pre-requisites.

Also, would I need to purchase Server 2008 CALs to connect to the Exchange 2010 CALs? Can't I just use my 2003 Server CALs in combination with the Exchange 2010 CALs?

And having said that, is Exchange 2010 Enterprise like Server 20XX Enterprise...allowing me to run 4 instances in a virtual enviroment?

I'm looking into buying a single server and contain costs as much as possible because I'm pretty sure the licensing will eat 90% of my budget. Thanks all!

Yes Exchange 2010 can successfully reside in a Windows 2003 domain as long as the forest functional mode is Windows 2003

I think you are confusing yourself between the supported operating system and the domain!

In regards to the CALs, unfortunately I am not a licensing expert so I will divert this to someone else who may be able to answer you on this forum.

Once again, you are getting confused! Exchange is an application while Windows Server is an operating system. Just because they both have enterprise editions does NOT mean they are the same thing. In Exchange, Enterprise edition allows you to have more functionality thank Standard edition.

I strongly advice you talk to your reseller and\or Microsoft sales about your requirements before committing to purchasing.
