Hello People.

First of all i want to thank all of you for the great website you've got here. It saved me a bunch of times.

At the moment i am setting up a multi tenant hosted exchange 2010 environment. I wanted to make a default Database for all my tenants. Unfortunately i can't seem to figure out how to make a tenant organization use one default mailbox store.

I know i can use the -database option with the new-mailbox command but i want to be able to create accounts with ECP and have a default mail database connected to the tenant

I hope i did not overlook the solution with my searches on google but i can't seem to figure it out.

So my question to you: Is it possible to set a default mailbox store for a tenant organization and how do i do this.

I believe you can do the following 

Set-MailboxDatabase "Database" -IsExcludedFromProvisioning:$true


Or you also have 

Set-MailboxDatabase "Database" -IsSuspendedFromProvisioning:$true

Unfortunately this is not really a option. It would mean that before i add users with ECP i need to disable/exclude all the other databases first.

I just want to be able to tell a tenant configuration to always make it's mailboxes in a specific DB

Ah, I see.

I dont believe that what you're trying to achieve is possible..you'd have to use the -Database parameter when creating the mailbox to get them on the same database which I dont think you can control when you use ECP to create mailboxes.
