Hello Guys,

I'm somewhat new to exchange server. I'm looking to set up an Exchange server as properly as I can with current resources. Its only going to be handling maybe 3-4 users tops.

Here's my situation

I have a dedicated server running windows server 2008 r2 sp1. It's remote located and has 15 ips available to it. I do have IIS on it along with DNS for running 3 domains.

I've created a virtual machine in Hyper-V to run a domain controller (I know about negatives of doing this) Now I'm wondering what would be the proper way of setting up exchange now on the host box? Should I provide the domain controller with an external ip? Should I use an internal domain or one of my .com domains? I can't run the domain controller on the host server to avoid multi-homed issues with AD as it doesn't seem happy when there's 15 IP's on the server.

Thanks in Advance I'm pretty new to scenarios and systems such as these. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Does the host have enough resources to setup a new virtual machine for Exchange?
