savaytse66 -> Clients Cannot Connect To Mailboxes (8.Mar.2011 6:36:15 AM)

This weekend, I decided to migrate from SBS 2008 to SBS 2011. I followed the Microsoft migration guide to a 'T' (well, almost), and everything seemed to be working fine. That's when curiosity and inexperience got the best of me, and I managed to royally screw things up. A brief summary of my setup: Host server - Windows Server 2008 R2, SP1, running HyperV VM1 - SBS 2008 w/ RAID 5 passthrough disk for data VM2 - SBS 2011 w/ single drive passthrough disk for data As stated above, everything worked after the migration. However, access seemed to be slow. That's when I realized that in SBS 2008 (Exchange 2007), I had my mailboxes and program data on a RAID 5 array, but when I migrated, I put this data on a single drive. So I backed up the old 2008 data, shut down both SBS machines (the 2008 machine is not yet demoted or decommissioned) and mounted both of the data drives in the host server. I then moved all the data folders from the single drive over to the array, reconfigured the RAID array as the 2011 passthrough drive, rebooted 2011, and changed the RAID drive letter to E:\, which was the drive letter of the single drive at installation time. It was then I realized that I could have just moved the database path in the EMC and avoided two days' worth of headaches. But I digress... I had a lot of trouble getting the mailbox to re-mount, but after verifying a clean shutdown of the database using eseutil /MH, I deleted the log files, attempted to mount, and it worked. Success, or so I thought. I can not access the mailbox either with Outlook 2010 on a client machine or through Remote Web Access. A few notes: - If I delete the Outlook profile on the client machine and create a new one, my Exchange user settings are auto detected, so there's some sort of communication going on.
- Once Outlook starts, it asks for my credentials, but then only displays "Trying To Connect", and then eventually "Disconnected" in the status bar.
- I am able to log on to Remote Web access. When I click the Check Email link, I get prompted for my credentials again in the Outlook Web App, but then just get an HTTP 500 Internal Server Error.
Any thoughts? I hope I've entertained some of you with my stupidity (I'm sure someday I'll look back and laugh), but I could really use a dose of experienced help. Thanks.
