Database failover question - 9.Mar.2011 10:07:34 AM

Hi guys,

I have been puzzled by our DAG / CAS Array behavior for a while now, and decided it was time to ask the masses :)

Exchange 2010 SP1 UR2
DAG consisting of 2 Mailbox servers in the same AD site
All mailboxes use a CAS array spanning 2 CAS servers, fronted by an F5 hardware load balancer. CAS servers act as File Share Witnesses for the DAG

The problem is that when we move an active database within the DAG from one server to another, the Outlook clients immediately disonnect. I was under the impression that since clients now connect to the CAS Array and not directly to the mailbox server, they wouldn't be able to see a database failover unless it took more than 10-20 seconds to activate the standby copy.

Am I mistaken, or is there a configuration item we have completely missed?

Run Get-PRCClientAccess and post the result.
Post the URL of CAS Array as well.
