So I set up an exchange server for informational and testing purposes, I am able to send emails with no problems. However the problem is I can't receive any external/internet emails. I can receive from other AD users inside the network.

When testing I have been using a gmail account to send to my exchange email. When I send a email, I see it land in the mailroot/queue... as a EML file.

If I open the file in Notepad, it is the email I sent. I can see the subject, time, etc... But it never hits my users mailbox using OWA. Does anyone know what could be causing this?

I just ran a telnet and sent mail from my gmail account to my exchange email, and that sends but again a EML file gets put in the mailroot/queue folder, I open it up, the file shows my email I sent. This is the content of the EML file.

Anyone? Assuming this forum is not very active? Does anyone else know a decent exchange forum that is fairly active. I am getting more help on a non exchange forum... but everyone seems to think everything is setup correctly and can't figure out the problem...

I fixed my issue by reinstalling exchange. I think it came down the the receive connector. When I first set it up I deleted the default connector, and configured my own but for some reason that didn't work.

Also make sure all of exchange services are running...

Sorry it is kind of early in the morning...
