Hi friends,

I'am from Portugal so sorry if my english is not so good.

We have an Exchange 2003 server and we send and receive (internal and external) emails with no problems until now.
When we try to send emails to just one customer, the server returns the error:
---------------------------------------------------------------------
Your message did not reach some or all of the intended recipients.
Subject: "subject"
Sent: 20-10-2011 11:26

The following recipient(s) could not be reached:

"customer email" on 20-10-2011 11:26
The e-mail account does not exist at the organization this message was sent to. Check the e-mail address, or contact the recipient directly to find out the correct address.

<"our domain" #5.1.1 smtp;550 5.1.1 User unknown>
---------------------------------------------------------------------

My server is in Portuguese language so i translate the error.
The customer email is correct. I did the tests with FTP and also send an email from an yahoo account and the mail reach the customer email box.

Thanks for any help.

Your English is fine :)

Whilst you may have the correct email address - the receiving server may be in a cluster (one of several servers configured to receive mail for that domain) and you may be hitting the wrong server that doesn't have that user configured on it.

The alternative is that the user has left the company, or you are getting the address wrong.

Hi alanhardisty,

Thanks for your Reply.
The email is correct, i verify with the customer, with FTP commands, send from my yahoo account and i have an reply from our customer.

How can i know if my server is hitting the wrong server? Is there a way to fix that?
I always think that the problem is internal (from my server) because the error is from our server and domain...
<"our domain" #5.1.1 smtp;550 5.1.1 User unknown>

Thanks
