I currently have the following setup:

3 buildings connected by Cisco VPN 24/7, Building one is my main headquarters. Buildings two and three are satellite offices with 25 users in each. I have under 100 users total.

3 Windows 2003 R2 domain controllers that are global catalog server with dhcp, dns and wins installed. One in each building. Building one has my main domain controller with all fsmo roles installed.

I just prepped the domain and installed a Windows 2008 R2 DC. I moved the FSMO roles to it. It is also is a global catalog server with dhcp, dns and wins installed.

Building two and three have a single server that they use as a file, print, dhcp, dns and wins server.

My Exchange environment is setup in a front-end/back-end configuration.

I have added another server with Windows 2008 R2 standard and am ready to install Exchange 2010 on it. I Currently Microsoft Forfront scans our email in the cloud and that is working well for us.

Once complete I will be running in mixed domain controller mode. Once I have moved all mailboxes off of the Exchange 2003 server I will be removing the front end and back end servers from my network permanently so there will be no mixed mode exchange. When complete I will have 4 domain controllers. 3 running windows 2003 R2 and one running Windows 2008 R2. I will have one member server running Exchange 2010 SP1. I do not want to make changes in my satellite buildings unless it is absolutely necessary.

What is the best way for me to do this?

Thanks,
Scott
