I've got two domains one is xyz.com the other abc.com

xyz.com is a 2003

abc is 2010

We have 10,000 users

1000 xyz users are being transfered to abc.

Scenrio 1

If we delete the mary.k@xyz.com from the 2003 server, how can we get thier mail to automatically get sent to mary.k@abc.com.

We can advise our customers to change to the new email, but we don't want to lose any mail.

You need to forward all mail for unresolved recipients to the 2010 server, but you will need to add the xyz.com domain as an accepted domain on the 2010 server and configure the mary.k@xyz.com email address (as an additional SMTP Address - not the primary one) on the 2010 server otherwise it will get rejected.

A good article to read:
