EXchange 2010
Version: 14.02.0247.005

Recently an employee deleted all his/her emails and left the company. We make a daily back up of the exchange databases with windows backup and then backup to a tape using backup excec.

The recover deleted items button is grayed out in that person's outlook. I was reading about dumpster but I don't think I enabled it for this particular user. Is there anyway I can recover all the emails for this user without going to the backup. The backup is huge!

Thanks

May be you can use a recovery product like Kernel for Exchange Recovery, Lepide Exchange Manager or Ontrack Powercontrols, against you EDB.

http://www.nucleustechnologies.com/Exchange-Server-Data-Recovery.html
http://www.lepide.com/exchange-manager/
http://www.ontrackpowercontrols.com

If you are unable to extract the emails from edb then going to the backup is the only solution. But to make the restore fast and eliminating the need of recovery server you can use Lepide Exchange Manager. This tool will mount your offline edb and export selected mailbox to Production Exchange or to a PST.

Hope that helps.

Today almost everyone holds some data in their Computers. Computers are now most common medium to store any data. If you want to find back lost data then you had better try the 3rd party software. Find out how to recover different kinds of data from any-data-recovery.com

Try using "Cloudbacko Pro" software as CloudBacko Pro supports the backup of Microsoft Exchange Server, either the whole database or selected individual mailboxes. So if you want to know more about this software follow the link: http://www.cloudbacko.com/microsoft-exchange-server-backup.jsp
