Hello,
I'm about to upgrade Exchange 2003 to 2010 and have ran into a problem with Setup/ADPrep Organization Preparation Failure.

The Error log shows the following~

07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The object UK has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:
[07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The e-mail address policy object must have exactly one primary e-mail address with the prefix "TFS".
[07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The SMTP address template 'SMTP:%g.%s@testdomain.com' is invalid because it references a domain that isn't configured as an accepted domain for your organization.
[07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The object Default Policy has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors

I'm running ADPrep in the perent domain as the Schema Master is there. The Child domain is where all the Exchange Servers and users are located.

Has anyone else seen this problem?
Regards,
Keith

You are aware that you cannot upgrade a server running 2003 to 2010?

You should be planning for Coexistence & Migration, so have you run the following with the proper permissions:

Setup/PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions (enterprise Admins group & Exchange Full admin Role perms) prior to having run
Setup/PrepareSchema (Enterprise admins & Schema Admins perms)

Please look over that above and reply with any questions.

Thanks for the info Gigabitz,
I'm running all of the commands on a Windows 2008 R2 Domain Controller. This will not be the server where Exchange 2010 will be installed.

The account I'm using has all of the required permissions.

The setup /preparelegacyexchangepermissions and /prepareschema worked no problem.

The setup /preparead is still failing with the error shown above.

Any help would be much appreciated.
Regards

OK!

07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The object UK has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors happened:

This is a Warning not a fail on this object have you validated this object?

[07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The e-mail address policy object must have exactly one primary e-mail address with the prefix "TFS".

This normally occurs with fax applications and any other app that has smtp address that you dont have an authoritative email domain for and no recipient policy so check that.

[07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The SMTP address template 'SMTP:%g.%s@testdomain.com' is invalid because it references a domain that isn't configured as an accepted domain for your organization.

THis gives you the reason for the error @testdomain isnt an accepted domain so check that as well or remove

[07/19/2012 09:55:28.0296] [2] [WARNING] The object Default Policy has been corrupted, and it's in an inconsistent state. The following validation errors

If you dont need this then remove it and create a new one or create a new one and delete the corrupt one. These are however only warnings and should not have caused a complete failure.
