Ok, background:

Exchange server (lets call it MAIL), lives in ABC.info domain, 2000 forest, 2000 domain.
This is our old domain. New domain is created (XYZ.info, 2003 forest, 2003 domain) and only USERS are moved. Each user in XYZ.info that need email has an account created in ABC.info, a mailbox is created, and rights to the mailbox are assigned to the user account in XYZ.info (ABC trusts XYZ, one way, external).

Now, somehow the ABC domain cannot contact DCs in XYZ, and therefor cannot authenticate users from XYZ any longer. I need to either get ABC talking to XYZ, or move MAIL out of ABC, and into XYZ.

If I disjoin MAIL from ABC, can I then join it to XYZ and then associate each mailbox with the appropriate user account in XYZ?
