I am currently on a 2000 based AD network with 2003 servers. I recently had a 2000 Exchange server completely crash, it can't be recovered. What's my migration path here? Do I simply promote a 2003 machine the run a new Exchange 2010 install or will there be complications because the old server is still in the AD? Can I manually remove this server completely out of AD, as if it didn't exist and start a new? I don't mind rebuilding all of the Exchange settings, it's a small user base.
Thanks!
