Hello all,

Now I have a Windows 2008 R2 Enterprise webserver. On that webserver I have installed Exchange 2007 with the CAS role. It communicates with an Exchange 2007 server with all the other roles.

Now I would like to migrate the Exchange 2007 CAS Server to Exchange 2013 with the CAS server role. Can I do it with the following steps:

On te 2008 R2 Web Server:
-> Uninstall Exchange 2007 with the CAS Server Role
-> Install Exchange 2013 with the CAS Server Role

As a in place upgrade is not supported.

Or is it mandatory to upgrade all the other Exchange servers too?

Your help is appreciated and with kind regards,

WVR

To do exporting from working exchange, use powershell scripts (cmdlets) to get the pst file. After that import pst file into Exchange Server 2013.

Now if exchange is unavailable or want to ignore powershell scripts, Any top-quality tool helps consistently. Few month ago, we integrated exchange 2013 and planned for migration existing exchange data (2013). The migration project was very crucial as exchange 21013 has few changed policies etc but PCVITA EDB Converter application did it effortlessly. It took 2 steps:

1. Exported edb mailboxes into pst formats
2. PST files easily imported into Exchange 2013

Few tools are directly exporting edb mailboxes into Exchange 2013 but asking for admin level credentials (data leakage may occurs here) and skipping the various properties emails and other items etc. As seen yet, experts are suggesting to do migration into 2 part because it is very secure and accuracy is also very high. Make safe and absolute migration using prominent edb converter apps which is hosted here:
