Hi all, hope you can help or at least nudge in the right direction. I've had to recovery an Exchange 2010 database from backup to a recovery database. Restoring the mailboxes from there has been ok except for a dozen that failed.

Resume-MailboxRestoreRequest -Identity "Paul Smith\mailboxrestore"

Each one fails with:

The Microsoft Exchange Mailbox Replication service was unable to process jobs in a mailbox database.
Database: Recovery1
Error: MapiExceptionRecoveryMDBMismatch: Unable to open message store. (hr=0x80004005, ec=1165)

I did find the "inherit permisison" checkbox was clear in the AD\security\advanced and I've checked the box but still getting the same error.

Any advice?

Thanks.
Paul.

HI Paul,

This kind of error occurs because the MRS or the Mailbox Replication Services caches Mail Database information.

If you restart the service cache will clear. If it doesn't work try the CMD to check it.

Get-Mailbox Database - Remove Mailbox Database- Identify My Database and try to delete the database.

Hi,

We would like to tell you that this error might also be because the data present in the backup is corrupt. Moreover we would like to tell you that if your EDB's are corrupt, then we are having a software which can recover all the corrupt EDB's. Apart from this it can also restore these EDB's to PST, Live Exchange or Office 365 formats. For more features you can refer to http://www.msexchange.org/articles-tutorials/product-reviews/product-review-lepide-exchange-manager.html
