currently in coexistence phase while moving from 2003 to 2007 exchange.
thought I would do something to help next year when we move to a newer version of exchange (possibly) so I created a mx record for mobile.mydomain.com, associated an external IP address to it, created a policy to forward all https from that Ip to the new 2007 exchange server, but when I setup the account on a droid phone to connect to mobile.mydomain.com, I get "error adding account - certificate from the server is not validated"

okay, turned off validation for the cert on the phone, and it is working now.
so I guess I do need a cert for mobile.mydomain.com?

what are the disadvantages to NOT having the cert?
