leggettd -> Exchange 2003 to 2010 migration (11.Jul.2013 6:05:53 AM)

Hi All,
I am currently in the process of installing my first CAS role server into an Exchange 2003 only environment. I have already successfully ran Setup /PrepareSchema and setup /PrepareLegacyExchangePermissions and while running the install of the CAS role it advises it will need to run PrepAD. That's what I am expecting however it also advises that no other Exchange 2007 or 2003 servers can be installed. I'm concerned this may somehow break my exchange 2003 production environment as all other information I can find only mentions a warning regarding exchange 2007?

Also, we have a mixture of Outlook 2003 and 2010 clients in our organization and im concerned that the autodiscovery service will cause the outlook 2010 clients to update their profile and redirect them automatically to our new CAS server. Is this the case or does this only effect mailboxes once they are moved to a new Exchange 2010 mailbox server?

Thanks in advance.
kind regards

It would not break but I would still advise you to check and verify. Plus read something more about it.

Here are some good stuff for you to start.
