rudnicke -> Minimum Required Ports (3.Dec.2013 8:00:44 AM)

I'm migrating from MDaemon to Exchange. In order to test access from the outside, I need to open ports through the firewall. Can someone give me a quick list of the minimum required ports in order for Exchange to function on an iPHone and Android device?

I need to be careful about stealing ports from our current mail server. THanks.

Actually the only port you need to open on your firewall to the exchange server(s) is port 443.

Not sure if that is enough. I opened 443 to the Exhange server, but my iPhone will not communicate with the server. It's unable to verify and unable to retrieve mail.

Are there any other ports?

Thanks.

Maybe the configuration of ActiveSync is not properly done. Port 443 is the only port you need for ActiveSync. I have seen issues many times with iPhones where the account is not automatically setup. You have to manually setup the account on the phone.

To verify your server settings are correct, go to https://testconnectivity.microsoft.com/ and run the activesync test.

It's working now. Thanks for the tip.
