We have a user that is trying to send a mass email internally to users and when they do they get the below message. The user is using the webmaster account to send the email to users in our company. The account can send to 5000 users and the message size is only 23 kilobytes.

When the user sends the email it is bounced immediately.

You do not have permission to send to this recipient. For
assistance, contact your system administrator.
<MAIL.abc.com #5.7.1>

We are running exchange server 2003 and the user is connected through iMail on their mac. They were able to send this mass email before.

Lots of information left out of your question.

What is the recipient that is failing? Is it blasting individual names, or a distribution list? What does Message Tracking say? Are you sending this via Outlook, or via an SMTP application?

Thank you uemurad for your response.

The user is sending to a distribution group and they are sending from Imail application. I narrowed down the issue to some kind of authentication problem. When I got to the distribution groups and unchecked accept mail from authorize users then the person is able to send to the group with no problems.

Distribution group

Exchange General - unchecked (From authenticated users only) then it works. However, we don't want to leave it like this and considering only one user having this problem.

Any ideas how to resolve this issue?

What happens if that same person attempts to use the webmaster account to send a message to a single user, or sends a message to a small DL?
