I have part migrated from exchange 2003 to 2010.
I have four sites with one site internet facing and set up with cas proxy.

the issue is as follows:
new created mailboxes with 2010 have no issue using active sync via mobile devices.
However users that have had their mailboxes migrated into 2010 from 2003 cannot access their mailboxes on mobile devices (the connection to server failed error). although they can using OWA.

Is there as hang up between the active sync and the migrated mailboxes.

On and Iphone for example I get all the accepted ticks for the account creating but it will not sync..
Is there an authentication issue?

You may try www.activesyncdr.com, the free service will simulate a mobile device trying to connect to your Exchange server over ActiveSync and do a full sync. It will display any error (including ActiveSync related errors) which may help you in your problem isolation.
