Hello,
where is the PST Data file stored? If it is on a CD/DVD or other read only medium or is marked as “Read Only”, please copy the PST file to your local hard drive and make sure the Read Only file attribute is not selected.
In addition, how did you open the Outlook PST file, please do not do it via Import, and do it via File Open Outlook Data File.
If above didn't resolve the issue, please try to use the scanpst.exe (Inbox Repair Tool) to scan and repair errors in your Outlook PST File. But the scanpst.exe fails to repair high level corruption. In such a case you have to go to any third party utility. One of the best PST Repair Tool that I used to repair corrupted or damaged PST File.

Hi,
This type of error usually signifying that Outlook PST file is not accessible and has become corrupted. PST file corruption generally occurs due to header issues improper import, bad CRC etc. You can fix this with the help of Scanpst.ext tool that comes with Outlook app. Close the application first and then run Scanpst.exe program. In some cases, it cannot able to repair PST file. You can also use Outlook PST Repair Tool to fix this error.

Have you tried compressing the PST file by sending it to a zip file? The PST may be completely empty and if your zip file is only a few bytes or KB then you know there is no data within it worth recovering.

There are many outlook recovery tools. You can do a search on Google and you will have the results. Personally I prefer to use OutlookFIX of Cimaware because is easy to use and is more cheaper than others tools. However, I agree with Mark about you should try compressing the PST file by sending it to a zip file.
