i had a raid array fail so had to recover from backup (symantec backup exec) i have run eseutil /mh to get the required logs then replayed them which failed because of a attachment error.

I reran with the switch to bypass the attachment check which completed successfully yet the database is still in dirty shutdown state.

I have tried all other options to try get the state clean but have failed.

Im now running the /p option as last resort.

Does anyone else have any suggestions?

In that situation ESEUTIL/p repair cannot give you proper result because that utility does not work properly. So, you need a third party tool i.e. Exchange Mailbox Recovery software easily sort out your problem. Through this software you can recover Exchange data from damage Exchange mailbox or dirty shutdown and restore Exchange EDB to PST file format with accurate email properties.

Get free demo version of this software... http://www.edbpstconverter.org/

There are also some third party applications which help to repair and recover the damaged Exchange database file and the recovered database can be mount directly on the server. I read that it supports all versions of MS Exchange server and provides two options. User can save the recovered database file either into .edb OR can export Exchange mailboxes in individual .pst files(which can be imported into MS Outlook). http://bit.ly/1mJyqWY

Hi,
First you must try to repair the corrupt Exchange database using Eseutil and Isinteg repair utilities.
To know how to repair Exchange databases with Eseutil & Isinteg commands, go to the link:
http://www.slideshare.net/amanda_lakai/eseutil-isinteg-commands

If these inbuilt repair utilities fail to recover your corrupt Exchange database. Then, you have no option, other than trying the third party Exchange recovery software.

These software are proficient and capable of recovering the data even from severe corruption. Also these are easy to use and less time consuming recovery methods as compared to the inbuilt repair utilities.

Note:It is always advisable to make a copy of the Exchange database before running any of the recovery methods as the inbuilt repair utilities can cause loss of data during the recovery process. Though, the third party tools are powerful enough, so that they can let you perform a risk free recovery without causing any data loss.

“Stellar Phoenix Mailbox Exchange Recovery” software is one of the most popular and trust-able exchange recovery software available in market.

It is available with free demo version that can be downloaded from the given link:

Exchange Server is an advanced and powerful solution that restores mailboxes/folders from inaccessible or corrupt Exchange database .EDB files to easily accessible MS Outlook .PST files. What could make an Exchange database .EDB files corrupt or damaged include numerous reasons like Exchange Server failure due to improper Server shutdown, damaged header information, virus attacks, physical damage of storage media, file size errors, all types of JET Engine errors, human errors, etc. Exchange Server converts EDB to PST without requiring a running Exchange Server (that ExMerge or Import-Mailbox utilities demands). The tool accurately recovers all the emails, attachments, folders, images, tasks, notes, appointments, journals, Sent Items, permanently deleted emails, email properties, etc. For more information and free download click http://exchangedatarecoverytool.blogspot.com

Try taking backup using "Cloudbacko software" i have experience of using CloudBacko software for my MYSQL database backup. Currently, i am using the same software because it gives me full security and protection to my data. Backup of a large 100GB MySQL Database can be finished overnight. Fast multi-thread MySQL Database backup. Block level incremental hot backup with zero downtime. MySQL Database backup pre-requisites checking guarantees restorability. Multi-destination concurrent backup. Directly restore from backup to original database. Service is very good so i would like to suggest you to have CloudBacko software for your backup plan.
