Hi all,

I have a severe issue in migrating a SMTP server. I have a client that uses a proxy wise server that regulates pretty much the entire internet traffic, going in and out.

This client has a very old SMTP server under IIS which has to be moved to a new server. Though alot of packages are having connections towards this server and I can't find any tooling that could give me insight on it. I tried IIS logging but that doesn't give me any insight on what mails via this smtp server so we can adjust everything.

My question, is there a best practice in to staging a migration in a decent way for this specific server? I considered using a extra NIC and fake the server name via NetBios though it's not a solution I would generally want.

It's a server 2003R2 running on Hyper-v 2k8.
