kumcore -> Exchange 2007 uninstall and AD cleanup (27.Aug.2014 10:41:02 AM)

Hello, We recently migrated to hosted exchange environment offered by a third party provider. So, I decided to uninstall/remove the in-house Exchange 2007 Standard SP3 that we had. Half the uninstall went smooth through "uninstall" option in the "Programs and Features" under control panel (running Windows 2008 Std SP2). I say "half the uninstall went smooth" because when it came to uninstalling the Hub Transport role it kept asking for original installer for "hygine" (i believe it has something to do with the anti-spam tool). Anyways, after lots of Googling I found out that by using the MsiZap tool I can by-pass that window where the installer requests for the source files. After I did that, the Exchange uninstaller came back and said it removed Hub Transport role and other roles which I had unchecked. However, when I take a look at ADSI now, under CN=Configuration I still see CN-Microsoft Exchange and everything underneath it. We always had only one exchange server in-house and we don't have any plans to install an exchange server anytime soon. However, I like to have a clean AD and remove any references to the old Exchange server we had, so that in the future IF we decide to install an Exchange server we don't run into any issues. I was hoping the uninstaller would have done a good job of cleaning up all exchange references i AD. But, obviously that's not the case here. Any idea what can be done now to keep the AD clean of any Exchange references?
