Recently I added a second domain to our Exchange 2010 server. All seems fine, with mail being sent to the correct people in the correct domain. However, there are instances where mail will be sent to a valid user on the new domain and is bounced with a #550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound error. The confusing part is that the error text is showing the original domain and not the new one like this:

IMCEAEX-_O=DWM_OU=EXCHANGE+20ADMINISTRATIVE+20GROUP+20+28FYDIBOHF23SPDLT+29_CN=RECIPIENTS_CN=FIRSTNAME+20LASTNAME65a@OLDDOMAIN.gov
#550 5.1.1 RESOLVER.ADR.ExRecipNotFound; not found ##

The message was sent to the new domain, but the not found error references the old one. I do have the old domain as a secondary address, but the new domain as the reply address. I have a policy that indicates mail from either domain should be delivered to the users, so why is this occurring?
