Hello, I am a technical working in a small school in Upsate NY, We have 100 Mailboxes that we have migrated to GMAIL.

I am wondering what is the best method to remove Exchange07 while keeping Active Directory Accounts intact.

I am not as keen on Exchange but so far if I remove a mailbox it deletes the users AD account. Does anyone know what the best way for me to remove the exchange server from the domain?

I looked at the info here https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb123893(v=exchg.80).aspx
but it appears we have to remove the mailbox database which cannot do until all the users are removed which is deleting the AD Account.

Could someone please give me any tips or suggestions as to how this should be handled?
Thank you!
