I’m migrating from Exchange Server 2007 to Exchange 2013 and I migrated about 50 or so mailboxes with no issues. The only issue that has come up is that users are complaining about search issues.
For example, on Exchange server 2007 if they had an e-mail that contained, “ABC123” they could search for “123” and it would come up in their e-mail. In Exchange 2013 if they to search for “123” it doesn’t display anything, but if they search or “ABC123” it finds it perfectly fine. Is there anything that I should be doing differently with the search on the server side?

If anyone ever reads this, I guess apparently Microsoft took out the partial word search in Outlook 2007.

I have no clue why my users were able to use it with Exchange 2007 and Outlook 2010, but the users insist that it worked until they were moved over to the temporary Exchange 2013 server for final migration to Exchange 2016.

You would figure Microsoft would include the partial word search without having to go to Advanced find for Outlook 2016. I really wish Microsoft would fix little stuff like this. People are insisting more and more to go to Gmail because of little things like this.
