2010 DAG suspend database copy

I've just refinished a maunal reseeding 6 Mailbox Stores to a Server destined to DR site.

Before taking the DR server offline for move and re-ip.

Question. Was given advise that simply putting the DR server in DAGMaintenance mode would be sufficient to suspend the existing database copies. Prior to taking DR Server offline.

Before taking the DR server offline, I'm of the mind that I should suspend each individual DB Copy (prior / post) putting said server in Maintenance mode and moving server to location other side of WAN route. I say this as I had to repass a couple DB's while other 4 were in sync, and putting the DR server in DAGMaintenance mode did not suspend active DB's

Anyone who has done this process, I appreciate your reply
