Hi guys i'm new to exchange so i'll say i'm sorry up front.

The guy above me in the tech department was recently let go. his job was basically to do everything i dont know how to do, so now my boss decided i should know everything ............. So here is "the problem"

we are running exchange server 2000 on a 2000 SBS the way everything seems to be working goes like so.

We have one account on our hosting provider that accepts Any and ALL emails, Now ever 15 mins everything in that account is pulled down and given to whoever it needs to on our exchange side. Now the problems that i'm having are i cant revice email from the outside world. Inter-office works fine and sending out emails seems to work but comming in has a multi-day lag sometime it never works. So how would i go about looking whats wrong and where can i go to learn how to fix set everything up if i ever needed to start from scatch?

ALSO since we accept ANY and ALL emails to our domain name AND my boss loves to give his email out to PORN sites we have about 90000000000000000000000000000 emails a day, so i would imagine that doesnt help

And another thing whats the purpose of having it setup like this at all why not just have everyone have a pop3 account on our host we only would need 15 - 20 accounts

I know this might not make complete sense but just tell me what you need to know and i'll try to do my best

Thanks,
LaN-
