Before I rip out whatÆs left of my hair, I decided to ask all you experts for help.
I need to restore a 5.5 public folder that was deleted. Simple problem right?

I did the followingà

1)Built new server with same version and service pack as production.
2)Created new site with same org and site.
3)Restore the information store
4)Create mailbox and link it to the account I used to install exchange
5)Open up mailbox and I see the public folder hierarchy
6)Click on any folder and they are unavailable.

The Exact Error:
Unable to display the folder. The contents of this public folder are currently unavailable. Either the Microsoft Exchange computer servicing this public folder is down or the public folder has not been replicated to this site. I also can not review the permissions of the folders in the Exchange Administrator.

Can anyone please help me out?

Thank you,

Rob

rb36,

Whats the back up product in use? cause it dosent sound like the pub.edb you restored was good. Or the tape was from after the folders instance was deleted. The does the pub.edb have any data in it meaing does it have size on disk.

You may be able to run DS/IS and revive some instances.

I would need more info to determine that for you. PM if you need to

Thanks alot Chris, you were correct. I was able to get an instance back and throw the data to a pst.

I really appreciate it!

Take care,

Rob
